Blue Ridge Parkway
There's no better time of year for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina, and stretches of the parkway remain open. One of the best is at The Pisgah Inn, which also hosts a restaurant, gift shop, and general store. If driving South on the Parkway, head back to Asheville via 276 (exit near Pisgah Inn) and stop by Looking Glass Falls--it’s just by road, you'll never forget it.
The Biltmore Estate
"America's Castle" is our nation’s grandest residence—it is indescribable. Tour the historic Vanderbilt mansion, greenhouse, and/or the surrounding grounds. Winery, restaurants, and shops on site. If you would like to visit Biltmore, book tickets in advance and plan to be on the property at least 3-4 hours or more. We recommend leaving your hotel/house 45 minutes to an hour before your house entry time.
North Carolina Arboretum
Not up for a hike but want to spend some time amongst the trees? The Arboretum is a curated outdoor tree museum with gardens and flat hiking trails. Small fee for parking.
Battery Park Book Exchange
Multi-story used book store with desserts and champagne bar.
Come for the books, stay for the bubbles.
Grove Park Inn
A mountain oasis much-loved by F. Scott Fitzgerald, John D. Rockefeller, and Thomas Edison, The Grove Park Inn is another one of Asheville's claims to fame. Great for long strolls or a treat-yo-self spa day. Check out the Grovewood Village which features an Antique Car Museum and the Biltmore Industries Homespun Museum.
Many galleries in the River Arts District and Biltmore Village are currently closed, although galleries in the RAD along Depot St have reopened. Blue Spiral 1 and all downtown galleries remain open.

Drum Circle
If you have time before the Welcome Party, there is a drum circle a few blocks away, downtown in Pritchard Park. Just one of those quintessential things that makes Asheville what it is. Grab a Cheerwine slushie at the S&W Cafeteria across the street.
